Introduction to Brother/ Jones/ Empisal/ Knit King class
This is a series of six lessons for the owner of a Brother/ Jones/ Empisal/ Knit King branded punchcard or electronic knitting machine, either a beginner user or a returning user who wants a refresher. Any of the fine- , standard- , or bulky-gauge machines are suitable for this course.
Completion of this course is a prerequisite for any of the following modules.
Objectives:
the student will be able to identify and use:
- the parts and tools of their machine
- suitable yarns
- several cast-on and cast-off techniques
- built-in stitches
At the end of the lessons, the student will have completed five knitted items.
The base yarn I am using in these lessons is mainly Loops & Threads ‘Woolike’, available at Michael’s. Any acrylic worsted yarn may be used on the Bulky, e.g., ‘Pound of Love’.
